If you have purchased tickets for others, you can transfer them by visiting your profile and selecting the ticket you wish to transfer.

Review Your Tickets

You review any tickets you have purchased on your profile page. You can access the profile page once you are logged in by selecting “Manage Your Profile” from the profile menu (the one with your headshot or avatar).

When you reach the profile page, you will see a “Tickets” section near the bottom of the page. This section lists every ticket you have purchased since your festival began using SparqFest ticketing. Tickets that a greyed out are for past editions of the festival. Tickets marked “Transfer Pending” are tickets in which you have begun the ticket transfer process, but your recipient has yet to claim them. Everything else is a current ticket that can be used to access the festival.

You can click any ticket both to see details about your purchase, the detailed entitlements and constraints associated with the ticket, and a link to begin the transfer process.

Starting the Transfer

When you click the “Transfer Ticket” link, a new dialog appears asking you for information about your recipient. The given name and email fields are required. Once you have entered the information, click “Transfer”.

One of two things will happen at this point depending on whether or not the recipient already has an account with the festival:

If they already have an account with the festival…

The ticket transfer will be completed immediately. The recipient will be notified that you have transferred the ticket to them and it will appear in their profile page as one of their tickets. Similarly, you will no longer see it in your “Tickets” section. No one need to take any further steps.

If they do not yet have an account with the festival…

The recipient will receive an email with an invitation code they can use to claim the ticket. At this point, the ticket remains “your ticket” and it shows up in your list of tickets with a note saying that a transfer is pending. You have the ability to cancel the transfer up to the point where your recipient claims the ticket.

Claiming Tickets

As noted above, there is no process of claiming tickets for people who already have festival accounts. The claim process is solely for those people who need to set up an account.

Once a person receives an email with their claim code, they can do one of two things:

  • Click on the link in the email which will walk them through account set up and ticket claims
  • Visit the web site manually, register, and then claim the ticket

To manually claim the ticket, the recipient visits the profile page after they create their account. The “Tickets” section will, of course, show no tickets at this point. To claim the ticket, they should click the “Claim Ticket” link. They will be prompted to enter the code. Once the code has been verified, the transfer is complete. The ticket now shows up in the recipient's list of tickets and no longer shows up on your list.
