Google and Apple have built tools to enable other applications (like SparqFest) to securely authenticate you without the need for those other applications to store sensitive data like passwords. In short, by relying on experienced identity providers like Google and Apple, SparqFest is creating a more secure environment. No one can steal your passwords from us because we don't have any passwords to steal.

The trade-off, of course, is that Google or Apple knows you are logging into a SparqFest festival. We recommend using an Apple ID to users who are most concerned about privacy. We recommend using a Google ID to users who are most concerned about “ease of use”.

We do not support Facebook/Meta because of privacy concerns and we have no plans to do so.
